Hyundai Sonata Exterior Design
The latest Hyundai Sonata has an entirely new look. Its size places it firmly in the middle of the midsize segment, where it competes against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Kia K5 and Honda Accord. But there's really no competition. The new Hyundai Sonata looks like the clear winner as though there's nothing else like it on the road today.
Prominent at the front of the new Sonata is the Seamless Horizon Lamp. A new feature for the Sonata is the light signature bar wrapping around the front at the leading edge of its very aerodynamic hood. The lightbar joins the headlights flanking the newly designed Sonata SEL black mesh grille. The sport-oriented Sonata N Line goes further with a unique performance-styled grille. LED Headlights and Daytime Running Lights are standard on both models. Automatic high beam assist and LED taillights are also standard.
The Sonata SE has 16-inch alloy wheels, the SEL has 17-inch alloy wheels, and the SEL Convenience has 18-inch alloy wheels. The Sonata N Line includes sporty 19-inch wheels and a rear N Line spoiler. Both Sonata models include standard power heated side mirrors.
Hyundai Sonata Specs
Each new Sonata model is powered by Hyundai's 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine producing 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This innovative engine takes advantage of Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and Multi-port fuel injection (MPI) technology. It is available in standard front-wheel and optional all-wheel drive, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The enthusiast-inspired Sonata N Line sedan is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine using GDI and MPI technologies that make 290 horses and 311 lb-ft of torque. The power hits the pavement via an N-tuned 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A sport-tuned MacPherson Strut suspension in front is matched to a Multilink rear suspension for optimal handling and traction. The package finishes itself off with twin-tip dual exhausts.
Sonata models include complimentary oil and oil filter changes and tire rotation services for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Hyundai Sonata Interior
The Sonata SEL is equipped with a cloth-upholstered and heated eight-way power driver's seat and 6-way adjustable passenger seat as standard. The steering column-mounted gear selector offers free space on the center console for cup holders, a Qi wireless charger and cubby holes to phone cables, sunglasses and more.
The dashboard's panoramic display uses a pair of 12.3-inch displays to show the driver's gauges and infotainment controls in an alluring widescreen fashion. It's one of the most innovative looks in modern vehicles.
