The Hyundai Santa Cruz includes a front-wheel drive powertrain for both vehicles, but Advanced HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) is an available option. Towing capacity for the 2.5-liter inline-4 is 3,500 pounds, while the more powerful turbo engine increases the load capability to 5,000 pounds.

Hyundai's HTRAC all-wheel drive Includes a multi-drive selector and electronic variable-torque-split dual-clutch with active torque control. Driving in Sport mode can vary the torque heading to the rear wheels. The system varies its reaction to situations, improving handling and acceleration in a straight line. It also makes entering and exiting sweeping turns mere child's play. 

Safety first

The new Hyundai Santa Cruz puts safety first. Standard onboard is Hyundai's SmartSense Safety and Convenience suite. It's an award-winning suite that includes Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection and Driver Attention Warning.

• Safe Exit Assist (SEA)-Makes you aware of traffic coming from the rear. The system lets you know when it is safe to exit and even keep the doors locked until traffic has passed.
