Overview
Hyundai's first minivan, the Entourage, earned top marks when first introduced last year. The 2008 Entourage keeps pace with more value and equipment options to suit the needs of families on the go. Sporting a powerful 3.8-liter, V-6 engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission; and equipped with advanced safety features, Hyundai Entourage continues to be a frontline contender in the minivan segment.
Power and performance
Entourage's advanced all-aluminum 3.8-liter, DOHC, 24-valve, standard V-6 engine produces 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, which means Entourage has more standard horsepower and torque than the Honda Odyssey or Chrysler Town and Country. Complementing the powerful V-6 is an equally advanced five-speed automatic transmission. Offering smooth shifts and optimized ratios, the transmission has an overdrive lock-up torque converter for quiet and efficient highway cruising.
Body and styling
The strong fender, hood crease and dramatic side profile give the 2008 Entourage a stylish yet functional look. The projector-beam front headlights are large and jeweled, with optional fog lights, providing excellent forward visibility.
The 2008 Entourage is one of the most comfortable minivans in the market with several convenient standard features. The base GLS includes manual rear sliding doors with power sliding windows; a premium tri-zone HVAC system with dual front climate controls; separate second-row controls and rear-seat vents for second- and third-row passengers; and a foldaway tray table with four cup holders mounted between the front seats.
Safety Features
The Entourage demonstrates Hyundai's leadership in standardizing the most effective safety technologies. Entourage features six standard air bags; electronic stability control; a four-channel anti-lock braking system that includes brake assist; lower anchors and tethers for children (Latch); tire-pressure monitoring system; and more.
